Causes of gearbox failure caused by lubricating oil
1 Improper selection of lubricating oil
Different parts of the reducer have different requirements on the variety, viscosity and other properties of the lubricating oil. The matching selection can reduce the friction resistance between the internal contact surfaces of the lubricating oil, the wear of the gear surface and the noise and vibration of the transmission. The lubrication effect will be greatly weakened if improper selection is made, the dynamic pressure oil film is easy to crack, the gear and other surfaces contact each other, the pressure is concentrated, and the gear surface is seriously damaged, even the equipment is damaged.
2 Improper amount of lubricating oil
During the high-speed operation of the reducer, the oil pool is violently stirred, and the lubricating oil is ejected everywhere inside the reducer. If the amount of lubricating oil is too much, a large amount of lubricating oil accumulates at the shaft seal, end cover, joint surface, etc., leading to oil leakage, increasing the running resistance of rotating parts such as bearings and gears, increasing the power consumption, reducing the heat dissipation space, leading to an increase in oil temperature, a decrease in viscosity, and thinning of the oil film, which destroys the normal lubrication state of the friction surface, causing serious wear and tear of the equipment.
If the amount of lubricating oil is too small, the gear, bearing and joint surface of the reducer cannot form an oil film due to insufficient lubricating oil. Dry friction also causes serious wear of the equipment.
3 Air, mechanical impurities, free water and other pollutants invade the lubricating oil
During the operation of the reducer, the lubricating oil inside the reducer is very vulnerable to mechanical impurities, water, air and other pollutants. For example, free water can make the lubricating oil produce acidic substances, corrode metal parts and aggravate wear. Air mixed in the oil can cause oxidation and deterioration of the oil, and even oxidation and corrosion of metal parts. The impurities can reduce the cleanliness of the lubricating oil, oil quality and viscosity level, resulting in jamming, failure of the speed control system, and even damage to the equipment.
