Why do servo motors have planetary reducers
Servo motors are equipped with reducers to increase torque. It is not economical to blindly increase the power of the servo motor when the load is high. Therefore, select the appropriate reduction ratio reducer in the required speed range. The reducer itself is used to reduce speed and increase output torque. Connection mode between reducer and motor: Hold mode - Output shaft of servo motor extends to reducer and servo motor is connected to reducer by flange. There is a deformable clamp in the reducer.
Operate the locking screw on the reducer so that the clamp fastens the servo motor shaft. Connection between reducer and motor: Connect by means of external coupling. This connection uses an external coupling, so servo power and keyway are required. External couplings can also use flexible couplings (flexible shafts) - the drive power of the flexible shafts generally does not exceed 5.5KW and the speed can reach 20000 rpm.
