How to determine the accuracy and backlash of RV reducer?

Everyone knows that RV reducers are generally used in the joint parts of robotic arms. RV reducers are mainly composed of the following parts: planetary gear system, including sun gear, planetary gear, and planetary carrier. Cycloid gear: meshes with planetary gears. Needle gear shell: fixed cycloidal gear. Input shaft and output shaft. So how to determine the accuracy and backlash of RV reducer?

1、 Here are some methods to determine whether the accuracy and backlash of the RV reducer of the robotic arm meet the requirements:

1. Comparison of test data: By conducting actual tests on the reducer, the test data is compared with the specified accuracy and backlash standards.

2. Repeatability test: Repeat the same motion operation multiple times and observe its repeatability. High precision reducers should exhibit small deviations.

3. Use professional testing equipment: Use high-precision measuring instruments to test the accuracy and backlash of the reducer.

4. Reference industry standards: Refer to relevant industry standards to understand the general accuracy and backlash range of this type of reducer, and use it as a basis for judgment.

2、 When choosing an RV gearbox suitable for a robotic arm, the following aspects can be considered:

Rated load: Select the appropriate load-bearing capacity based on the load requirements of the robotic arm.

Reduction ratio: Choose the appropriate reduction ratio based on the motion speed and accuracy requirements of the robotic arm.

Accuracy and backlash: Ensure that the reducer has sufficient accuracy and small backlash.

Work environment: Consider factors such as temperature and humidity in the work environment, and choose a gearbox that is suitable for the environment.
