Method for Improving the Bearing Capacity of Worm Gear Reducers
The worm gear reducer can effectively reduce contact stress and friction coefficient through reasonable meshing parts, expanding actual contact area, and manufacturing artificial oil culverts, thereby improving the bearing capacity and transmission efficiency of the worm gear transmission.
The editor of Saborel reducer explains the methods to improve the bearing capacity of worm gear reducers:
1、 Adjust the position of the worm gear.
The use of lateral contact is to naturally form an "artificial oil culvert" on the biting side and fully utilize the large angle Ω between the biting side line contact and sliding speed. Generally, the contact area on the bite side accounts for 30% -40% of the entire tooth surface.
2、 Eliminate unfavorable occlusal areas.
Usually, the area where the worm gear reducer deviates from the tooth root in the middle of the gear teeth is not formed by dynamic oil grinding, and early failure often occurs in this area. By adjusting the number of teeth and spacing position of the worm gear, as well as the degree of engagement, the load-bearing capacity of the reducer can be improved and its range of use can be expanded.
The various speed ratios of worm gear reducers have corresponding moduli, and the bearing capacity of worm gear reducers varies with different moduli of the same model.
